Dale Cregan Murder Trial – Verdicts in

After a  trial with various twists and turns (including Dale Cregan changing his plea to the murders of two policewomen and later, to David and Mark Short) the jury has returned verdicts on all the defendants. Mr Cregan had a (somewhat pyrrhic) victory in being found not guilty of the remaining charge against him of Attempted Murder.

The jury returned the following other verdicts:

  • Luke Livesey – Guilty of the murder of Mark Short

Guilty of Attempted Murder of 3 others in the same attack

  • Damian Gorman – Guilty of the murder of Mark Short

Guilty of Attempted Murder of 3 others in the same attack

  • Jermaine Ward – Guilty of Murder of David Short
  • Anthony Wilkinson –  previously pleaded guilty to the murder of David Short and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
  • Mohammed Imran Ali – Guilty of assisting an offender

Three other men were found Not Guilty of murder.

We understand that all will be sentenced this afternoon. All those found guilty of murder will receive a life sentence. Mr Cregan will probably get a whole life tariff, with the others receiving tariffs in excess of 30 years.
